Policy Officer - Internet Governance

The Centre for Internet & Society is seeking an individual with a technical background and interest in issues pertaining to Internet Governance, including communication protocols, cybersecurity, privacy, and technical standards in the same fields.

 

This position will include technical research and writing, developing policy briefs, organising, and participating in conferences, engaging with key stakeholders, and collaborating with project partners.

Required Skill Sets

  • Technical understanding of computer networks, cybersecurity, and cryptography.
  • Strong writing and analytical skills,
  • Experience in conducting research,
  • Demonstrable research skills and ability to undertake research independently,
  • Strong communication skills,
  • Ability to work independently or with minimal supervision, and
  • An interest in policy issues pertaining to IG, including privacy and freedom of expression.

Additionally, it would be preferred if the candidate has previous work in these fields, and knowledge of Indian law and policy relevant to the digital sphere.

Compensation: Based on experience and education.
