http://editors.cis-india.org/openness/blog-old/training-the-trainer-programme-and-mediawiki-training-at-pune
<b>A two-day long train-the-trainer and Mediawiki training programme was organised during May 28-29 in Pune to better capacity of Wikimedians both technically, and outreach and community building.
</b>
<p>The participants were trained about planning, organising and reporting
for outreach programmes, public speaking, advanced editing skills and

Rahmanuddin Shaik and I facilitated the individual sessions. Thanks to Sanket Oswal, Treasurer, <a href="http://wiki.wikimedia.in/">Wikimedia India</a> who shared about the chapter’s ongoing activities, especially the <a href="https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Wiki_Loves_Earth_2016_in_India">Wiki Loves Earth</a> project. The community members from Nashik shared about their plans for a meetup in the city of Nashik in June.</p>
<a href="http://mr.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:SantoshiWiki">Santoshi Tiwari</a>,
a Wikimedian from the city of Nashik who was attending a programme like
this for the first time feels that there is need for more such
programmes more often in multiple cities as there are already 16
Wikimedians from her city who are eager to learn more advanced editing
skills. “I learnt about many interesting aspects of the Wikimedia world,
like the <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:The_Wikipedia_Adventure">Wikipedia Adventure</a> game, Wikidata and <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Policies_and_guidelines">Wikipedia policies and guidelines</a>
<p>.
Until this time, I was contributing to Wikipedia on my own but I
started contributing to Wikidata after this event. Now I am enjoying
playing the Wikipedia Adventure. I also got the opportunity to meet many
Wikimedians in person” shares Santoshi. She explains, “this was good as
an introductory event but I would like to participate in sessions that
are more detail-oriented. Also, having edit-a-thons during such events
will be very useful. With a total of about 19-20 people participating in
total, 7 female participants is still a good starting point to
have a balanced community. However there should be plans for
accommodating more people in the upcoming events”.</p>
Going forward, there are plans to have at least one session in four
month in cities where there are higher number of Marathi Wikimedians.

http://editors.cis-india.org/openness/workshop-on-digital-annotation-and-content-generation-with-research-scholars-in-pune
<b>The Centre for Indian Languages in Higher Education (CILHE) is conducting a two-day workshop on Digital Annotation and Content Generation with research scholars at KSP Women’s Studies Centre, Pune on October 30-31, 2015.</b>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Day 1:</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">As part of this workshop, we will be working
with <a class="external-link" href="http://www.annotationstudio.org/">Annotation Studio</a><span class="_Tgc">, </span>a set of collaborative web-based and open source
annotation tools that allows users to share texts and annotate them
simultaneously. For the educator, it enables tracing points of
engagement with the text, identifying which paragraphs generate most
interest and why, and learn how readers understand the argument of the
text based on marking of tags. For the student, digital annotation is an
interesting exercise in close analytical reading, responding to
feedback, and building an argument.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Day 2:</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The second day will be spent in understanding about generating
encyclopedic content on Wikipedia. We will engage the participants in annotating key
Women’s Studies texts and create well-referenced entries on various Indian language Wikipedia projects.</p>

http://editors.cis-india.org/openness/sau-dhuni-teen-project-december-edit-a-thon
<b>As part of the "Sau Dhuni Teen Project" a multilingual Wikipedia Wikipedia edit-a-thon was organised at the Women's Studies Centre, University of Pune.</b>
<p><strong>Concept note:</strong><br />The digital domain is becoming increasingly significant as a knowledge repository today. Especially relevant in this context is the online encyclopedia Wikipedia, which contains information on almost every topic under the sun and is used extensively by researchers. The fact that information from the Wikipedia is even used as a starting point of academic writing necessitates thinking about how this information is organized, or in other words, how we conceptualize Wikipedia as a knowledge resource. In the multilingual Indian context, generation of content in the Indian languages is a logical next step. It is with the intention of strengthening this knowledge network in the social sciences, that Women's Studies Centre, Pune University conducts content generation workshops with university researchers. The broad mandate of the digital resource generation workshop is to introduce university students to tools of collaborative knowledge production on the internet and methods for generating new online content in Indian languages under Sau Dhuni Teen Project. Also introductory session on Wiktionary.</p>
<p><strong>Project aim:</strong></p>
<ul><li>Facilitate researchers to think critically about concepts and their associations</li><li>Involve researchers as active editors on the Indian language Wikipedias</li><li>Utilize Wikipedia as a platform to generate Indian language annotations of academic texts in Women's Studies and the Social Sciences</li></ul>
<p>The organisers are also planning to engage the students in annotating one key women's studies text each through follow-up workshops and credit them as contributors to the "Annotated Bibliography project"</p>
<strong>Project outcome:</strong>
<p>9 female participants joined for this edit-a-thon and edited various articles on Marathi Wikipedia. The Marathi Wikimedia community being quite particular about the citations from Marathi-language source was somehow challenging as the participants struggled at times to find much information about many things notable. A simple step by step <a class="external-link" href="https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Basic_Guidelines_for_your_Wikipedia_entry.pdf">tutorial</a> was created, printed and shared among the participants. Some of the participants showed interest in participating in the <a class="external-link" href="https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/CIS-A2K/Train-a-Wikipedian">Train-a-Wikipedian</a> programme that CIS-A2K is planning. Sheena D'Lima engaged with the participants by sharing her learning from <a class="external-link" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WP:MOS">Manual of Style</a> for writing Wikipedia article.</p>

planning to share how the teachers could use Wikipedia as a learning

<p>Thanks to the organisers that they provided me a slot for sharing
about editing Marathi Wikipedia. I started my presentation with an

interested to know about <a class="external-link" href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Verifiability">verifiability </a>of

interested in organising Wikipedia workshops in different cities of
