In a follow up to the ongoing project of compiling a National Compendium of Laws, Policies and Programmes for Persons with Disabilities, we are conducting a research to study the allocation in the budget for schemes for persons with disabilities, expenditures incurred for each scheme and total numbers of beneficiaries for all states and union territories.

In this context, applications under the RTI Act have been sent to departments covering persons with disabilities in all states requesting the following details for the period 2012 – 2014:

  1. Total budget allocated for each scheme per year.
  2. Total expenditure on budget for each scheme per year.
  3. List of beneficiaries for each scheme per year.

Responses are currently being received from various districts and state departments for the above queries. State-wise details will be compiled and published on the website.
